"I can blow good."

Writer's picture: Salik HussainSalik Hussain

October 19th, 2020.

I realized this day that my laptop has started to overheat. Around 10 to 15 degrees plus base temperature.

"This is bad... this is bad..."

I send a message to the laptop doctor, "Hey look, my buddy is really sick. Please come by and take a look. His name is beep beep bop bop and... details."

I get an automated message, "Due to Covid, we may respond later than usual."

I was like, "Okay, I'll wait."

I shut my laptop down; put it in a coma. "If it doesn't work, it doesn't overheat."

And... then I just sat there...

Empty....

"What do I do now?"

I watch some... a lot of YouTube videos... and then,

"What do I do now?"

I download and play around with some apps on my phone... and then,

"What do I do now?"

I tried creating a video or two on phone. Spent several hours, but nothing came of it.

"What do I do now?"

I went on the RPG Maker sub reddit and forum and responded to posts.

"What do I do now?"

......

...

I realized I had quit every other hobby I had, to make games. (Like watching anime, movies, and playing videogames.)

So really, I felt I had nothing to do.

Or that, I had nothing I wanted to do.

"Why haven't the doctor got back to me yet?"

I leave them another message. Perhaps something went wrong and the first message didn't reach them.

and...

No response...

Working hours for the day pass by, and...

No response...

I begin slipping into older hobbies and habits. Started downloading games, and going through a list of anime to figure out what to watch.

But then I paused...

"No..."

"No.... I don't want to get back into those things. It wasn't easy quitting..."

"But, I can't wait for the doctor either."

So I look around on YouTube and google. To figure out what could be wrong with my laptop, and how to fix it, so I could do the operation myself.

"Oh it's probably overheating due to all the dust collected inside. Just need to clean it up and that should solve the problem."

I look for ways to solve this without opening its body.

"Use a compressed air can to blow the dust out." ~ people on the internet inform me.

I watch a tutorial on how to use a compressed air. And then I went online to order one... but...

"We're out of stock. It can take around 3-4 weeks for the next shipment to arrive."

I knew no shop around sold one. And even if I could buy it online, I was not in a position to wait a few days for it to arrive.

"Okay... what do I do now?"

I google what else I could use, that can replace the compressed air can... that I might have lying around.

"Can I use a vacuum cleaner? A blower?"

The internet responded saying "Hell no boy."

I sighed....

I took a deep breathe, blew it out.

"Wait...."

I take a deep breathe again, I bring my right hand in front of my mouth, and blow my breathe at it.

"I can blow with my mouth..."

I take another deep breathe, like a super deep breathe, and blew at my hand again, testing how hard and sharp I can blow air out.

"I can blow good!"

So I took my Laptop. And I started sharply blowing into its vents and exhausts.

All the dust from its insides start pouring out on my face. I was overjoyed... "Finally! YES! It's Working!"

I spent around 30-45 minutes, just blowing into it, and cleaning the gore and dust that came out.

I was placing my lips very close to all its holes and openings, and blowing a new life into it.

I stop... and turn it on 10-20 minute later...

"It's... fixed..."

"It's not overheating anymore..."

.

.

Camera zooms out. Curtains close.

You hear weird noises coming from a distance...

The end.
